چکیده

The method of Deibler, Holmes, Campbell, and Gans (1959) is a quick, accurate, and reliable method for the determination of oxygen saturation. The results should be calibrated against those obtained by the Van Slyke method, and the setting, sensitivity, and reliability of the spectrophotometer should be carefully established. This is especially necessary to meet the stringent requirements for accurate setting at the isobestic point 805 mmu. This method is superior to a method using saponin as a haemolytic agent and reading at only one wavelength.

Simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of lead, copper and nickel using xylenol orange by partial least squares

A partial least squares (PLS) calibration model was developed for the simultaneous spectrophotometricdetermination of Pb (ΙΙ), Cu (ΙΙ) and Ni (ΙΙ) using xylenol orange as a chromogenic reagent. The parameterscontrolling behavior of the system were investigated and optimum conditions were selected. The calibrationgraphs were linear in the ranges of 0.0–9.091, 0.0–2.719 and 0.0–2.381 ppm for lead...

Spectrophotometric determination of the oxygen saturation of whole blood.

A new approach to the spectrophotometric determination of blood oxygen saturation has been made which is based on the absorption maximum of oxyhemoglobin and the isosbestic point of oxyhemoglobin and hemoglobin. The precision of this new method is comparable to that of the manometric procedure in which the Van Slyke-Neil1 apparatus is employed; there is also good correlation between results obt...

A modification of the spectrophotometric determination of carbon monoxide in blood enabling direct determination of per cent hemoglobin saturation.

BECAUSE OF VARIATION in hemoglobin concentration in normal bloods with age and sex (1), the per cent carbon monoxide saturation of hemoglobin represents a more accurate toxicity index than the volume per cent of carbon monoxide. In 2 of the most common methods of carbon monoxide determination in blood, the gasometric method of Van Slyke (2, 3, 4) and the spectrophotometric method of Harper (5),...

Simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of ampicillin and penicillin in human plasma using multivariate calibration

An analytical methodology based on spectrophotometric and partial least squares (PLS) algorithm for thesimultaneous determination of ampicillin and penicillin in human plasma was developed and validated. Themultivariate model was developed as a binary calibration model and it was built and validated with anindependent set of synthesis and real samples in presence of matrix. It is shown how a de...

Adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) applied for spectrophotometric determination of fluoxetine and sertraline in pharmaceutical formulations and biological fluid

The UV-spectrophotometric method of analysis was proposed for simultaneous determination of fluoxetine (FLX) and sertraline (SRT). Considering the strong spectral overlap between UV-Vis spectra of these compounds, a previous separation should be carried out in order to determine them by conventional spectrophotometric techniques. Here, full-spectrum multivariate calibrations adaptive neuro-fuzz...
